Louisiana: The State We’re In

Louisiana: The State We’re In »»»
Tonight at 7:00 on LPB

It’s been a year of some bad news, good news for the State Department of Health. Andre’ Moreau talks with Health Secretary Dr. Rebekah Gee about a Legislative Auditor’s report that says that the department may have spent tens of millions of dollars on Medicaid recipients who are not eligible and launching of a new enrollment system that Gee says now gives the state one of the premier systems in the country.

Andre’ also talks with State Climatologist Barry Keim and Dr. Robert Twilley, Executive Director of Louisiana Sea Grant College at LSU and expert on the Coastal Louisiana master plan, about the Trump Administration’s recent significant report on climate change. They discuss how Louisiana coastal experts have factored in sea level rise from climate change for years as they work to rebuild the state’s precious wetlands.

Plus, Andre’ gets the latest on the repair work to the Sunshine Bridge from DOTD Secretary Shawn Wilson. The bridge has now opened one lane in each direction and will remain that way while damage from the barge collision is repaired, plus general maintenance repairs are made.
